Y-Pals is a Governor’s One-on-One Volunteer Mentoring program, and a division of the Gaston County Family YMCA.
Y-Pals serves at-risk youth by matching them with positive adult role models who provide friendship, learning experiences, and support for their growth and development.
Our youth are between the ages of 6 and 18 and are referred by the Juvenile Court System, Law Enforcement, Schools, and other Human Service agencies. Y-Pals provides a unique opportunity for Gaston County youth who need a chance to redirect their lives.
Mentors deeply impact the lives of youth, helping them increase their self-esteem, improve their behavior, and prepare for productive adult lives. Y-Pals provides a great opportunity to make a difference in the life of a young man or woman.
